The Toney Family Foundation is proud to support the following organizations:

There With Care

Founded in 2005, There With Care's mission is to meet the unique daily needs of a family experiencing a medical crisis, including a Baby Essentials Program, Transportation Program, Home Maintenance Program, Meal Program, Patient and Sibling Support Program, Soup Station, Professional Services Program, Information Technology/Telephone Assistance Program. While many local organizations may provide one or two program services, There With Care is the only organization to offer this breadth of services to its clients. This variety allows the organization to shift support services as a family's needs change during a crisis.

Its most utilized program, the Meal Program, provides groceries and prepared meals to families referred by Licensed Social Workers. It has provided families with well over 150,000 pounds of groceries. In addition, There With Care distributes prepared meals to families experiencing the most intense critical stage of their child's illness.

Through the Toney Family Foundation grant, There With Care will use the requested funds toward prepared meals for families so they have more time to invest in each other during the crisis.

OpenWorld Learning

OpenWorld Learning's vision is to provide innovative educational opportunities that might otherwise not be available to many of today's youth. Through tapping the power of digital technology and peer teaching, OpenWorld Learning strives to develop leadership and ignite a love of learning and leadership. In addition, Open World Learning partners with public schools to turn the lights on in school computer labs, which would otherwise sit empty during after-school and summer hours. Since its inception in 2000, OpenWorld Learning has established a track record of delivering measurable outcomes and offering award-winning educational programming.

With the support of the Toney Family Foundation, OpenWorld Learning will run a one-week long summer camp that will increase students' exposure to STEM skills and careers while helping decrease the learning gap that occurs during the summer months when children are not attending school.

Flashes of Hope

Flashes of Hope is a nonprofit organization that changes the way children with cancer and other life threatening illnesses see themselves through the gift of photography. The portraits, taken by award-winning photographers, help children feel better about their changing appearance by celebrating it. For families of terminally ill children, it's especially important to have a portrait that preserves forever the beauty, grace and dignity of their child.

The Toney Family Foundation currently sponsors a Flashes of Hope chapter in Florida, including support for the Flashes of Hope at Camp Boggy Creek in Orlando, Florida. Over 175 children coping with cancer were photographed over the summer and their families received a package of photographs. The Flashes of Hope camp photographs captured the children at a time where they are completely free to be themselves away from their illness.

The mission of the Chagrin Falls Exempted Village School District is to provide a comprehensive range of learning opportunities for students and staff in partnership with the community. The school district has placed a high priority on the access and use of technology in the classroom. The district’s goal is twofold: to enhance student learning through innovative approaches and technologies; and to develop proficiency in information literacy at the earliest age.

To support the districts focus on technology, the Toney Family Foundation donated iPod Touches and apps to go along with them, as well as other computers and equipment. iTouch technology extends learning far beyond the classroom wall, redefining the teacher’s role and placing the student at the center of learning.
